    1. Park Davis Co. use to make a Digestive Enzyme under the trade name TAKAZYME.They no longer make it, but it was very good for indigestion .Would you know which enzyme it consist of, and do you have it or something simular in stock? - Top

Thanks for you enquiry about digestive enzymes. I am not specifically familiar with TAKAZYME, but I am quite familiar with the value that digestive enzymes can have in assisting with digestion and helping to prevent indigestion. Many of our customers are drawn to our products for the very reason of reducing or eliminating indigestion. In many cases indigestion is simply the result of not being able to digest our food properly and completely. This situation quite often occurs as we age and is the result of our body (primarily pancreas) not being able to continue producing the level of natural internal digestive enzymes that we were accustomed to when we were younger. How often have we heard and said to ourselves that "I just can't eat the hot or spicy or rich food I used to like so much when I was younger." Digestive enzymes can be quite beneficial and helpful in these cases. Indigestion is just the first indicator that digestive malfunction is occurring. This can lead to longer term health problems. For a more complete explanation of this, please see "Take the Digestive Enzyme Tour" on the Enzyme Essentials web site. (link shown below).

Specifically there are two products you will want to look at.

The first, and the most highly recommended for continual use is OxiCellZyme. This is our "flagship" product and is one of the two products included in our highly successful E-Club offering.

The second is GastroZyme which is suggested to be taken in conjunction with OxiCellZyme before meals on an "as needed" basis depending on the nature and size of the meal. This assists with soothing an irritated stomach with natural products as opposed to strong and potentially permanently damaging antacids. Actually even the manufacturer does not recommend using antacid products over long periods of time.

The GastroZyme is often added for gastric relief in cases where there is chronic indigestion or heartburn. GastroZyme is often used in conjunction with OxiCellZyme (or DigestZyme) in order to help assist and expedite the elimination of gastric distress when a person is just starting a digestive enzyme regimen. GastroZyme acts to soothe and heal the intestinal muccosa which may have been damaged from years of digestive abuse. Once a person has gotten underway with a consistent enzyme regimen (45-60 days), the need for GastroZyme often subsides or disappears.
