Q21-Can supplemental enzymes slow our aging process?

Probably.  Research on rats that were given supplemental enzymes showed that the older rats had not only stronger but also more enzymes than the controlled group of rats.  Evidence clearly indicates the existence of a fixed enzyme potential in all living creatures.  This potential probably diminishes in time, subject to the conditions and stresses of life.  If we eat an enzyme-free diet, we probably use up a tremendous amount of enzyme potential by over-secretions of the pancreas and other digestive organs.  The result may be a shortened life-span, illness, and lowered resistance to stresses of all types, both psychological and environmental.  By eating foods with their enzymes intact and by supplementing cooked foods with enzyme capsules, we might stop abnormal and pathological aging processes.  By the way, the enzyme-fed rats lived 3 years in comparison to 2 years for the enzyme-free fed rats.
