Recommended
Usage for SportsZyme:
Take 2 -
3 capsules prior to physical activity or exercise. The best results occur
when they are taken with fruit juice or vegetable juice.
Physical
activity in the form of muscular work or exercise demands large quantities
of immediate energy. Adenosine triphosphate is the common energy source
used for all biological work done within cells. The energy that is gained
following the breakdown of ATP to adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and inorganic
phosphate (Pi) is used for skeletal muscle contraction during exercise.
In addition to ATP, skeletal muscle has another high-energy phosphate
called creatine phosphate (CP) that can be used for the resynthesis of
ATP.
Formulated
for athletic or sports-minded people, SportsZyme provides a stable source
of energy during exercise or competition.

Component
Benefits
Yerba
mate leaf
is an herb containing high quantities of nutrients.
In fact, a group of investigators from the Pasteur Institute and the Paris
Scientific Society concluded that Yerba mate contains practically all
of the vitamins necessary for sustaining life. It is difficult to find
a plant in any area of the world that is equal to Yerba mate in nutritional
value. Additional clinical studies that have been done in France, Germany,
Argentina, and other countries conclude that Yerba mate leaf may actually
be the most powerful rejuvenator known to man. Yerba mate rejuvenates
the body and increases mental awareness through its wealth of nutrients.
Unlike other rejuvenators (such as caffeine), Yerba mate does not cause
side effects (such as nervousness and jitters).
Sida
cordifolia
is an ancient thermogenic herb from India. It
is only now being discovered by Americans who are concerned with weight
control. This herb will cause a slight increase in body temperature so
that your body must burn more calories in order to maintain the increase.
Creatine
is
a very important nitrogenous compound which serves as an energy store
after its phosphorylation by ATP to form creatine phosphate, also called
phosphocreatine or phosphagen. Creatine is synthesized by a series of
reactions involving three amino acids (arginine, glycine, and methionine)
which quickly replaces ATP's spent phosphate group, providing instant
energy to the muscle. Creatine phosphate serves as a reservoir of high-energy
phosphate bonds in muscle and nerve tissues. This helps to maintain the
ATP levels during muscular activity, which otherwise quickly depletes
the ATP. Therefore, increased creatine phosphate levels should theoretically
delay fatigue in repetitive, exhaustive, short-term exercise. Creatine
phosphate is considered the high-energy phosphate "reservoir"
that is used for the resynthesis of ATP, providing the most rapidly available
source of ATP for muscular contraction. In addition to using creatine
monohydrate, this formulation has creatine citrate, which has the advantage
of providing the cells with creatine to replenish the supply of phosphocreatine
as well as citrate that is a Krebs cycle intermediate for energy production.
CoEnzymeQ10
is
a necessary molecule for the mitochondria to work. It is present in the
mitochondria's electron transport system. This co-enzyme also participates
in the Krebs cycle and helps to transfer electrons from organic substrates
to molecular oxygen within the mitochondria, thus CoQ10 helps change nutrients
into ATP. Cells do not directly use nutrients that are consumed in the
diet for an immediate supply of energy. ATP is an energy-rich compound
and is the fuel that is used for all the energy-requiring processes within
the cell. CoQ10 deficiency can result in both premature aging and obesity.
Glutamine
is a non-essential amino acid found in many plants and
in many proteins of the body that is necessary for the the health of connective
tissue and for musculoskeletal healing. Much recent study has shown that
glutamine is exceptionally important to metabolism. Dr. Douglas Wilmore
of Harvard Medical School says that glutamine is a key to metabolism and
also to the maintenance of muscle. In addition, it is essential for DNA
synthesis, cell growth, and cell repair. It is also a primary energy source
for the immune system. Dr. Alan Gaby reported in the Townsend Letter for
Doctors that glutamine can reduce allergic reactions. It also promotes
mental alertness and gives a lift to those who are tired or depressed.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that glutamine
is an effective way to raise hormone levels. During times of stress, muscles
discharge glutamine into the bloodstream. The older you get, the more
of an effect stress has on your body, resulting in more depleted levels
of glutamine in your muscles. Energy and nucleic acid metabolism in immune
cells also depends on an adequate supply of glutamine. Not surprisingly,
research indicates that trained athletes have less stored glutamine in
their body.
Protease
will
assist in the delivery of nutrients and will be a beneficial assistant
in the blood.
