A natural HRT alternative!
A blend of soy isoflavones and protease to help minimize menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, to scavenge free radicals, and to help prevent bone loss.

SoyZymeTM is a proprietary phyto (plant derived) extract containing approximately 6% of the total weight as pure isoflavones, the majority of which is the isoflavone Genistein.

Genistein is one of the most active isoflavones of soy. Soy and its derivative isoflavones are clinically shown to be agents that provide protection against various conditions including heart disease and help normalize female related health issues such as PMS, menopause, and osteoporosis. Genistein's role as a "weak estrogen"  is being extensively  studied for its possible ability to combat some forms of cancer, including breast and prostate.

The addition of Protease to the product assists in the digestion of protein and increases the production of energy.  Protease, also known to act as a scavenger of oxidized and damaged proteins, is active in helping to eliminate blood toxins, strengthens and supports a weakened immune system, addresses hormonal imbalances, speeds wound and tissue repair, and helps to chelate heavy metals and remove their toxins.

SoyZyme is part of the E-Club Enhanced Enzyme Nutrition System.

SoyZyme was developed to help immunomodulate the body, remove immune complexes and truncated protein debris from circulation, control cellular proliferation, prevent bone mass loss, and enhance blood rheology. SoyZyme combines two powerful phytonutrients: Genistein and a blend of Proteases. The combination of these provide far ranging protective and therapeutic benefits to the body.

Due to the extensive and diverse benefits of both the soy isoflavone Genistein and the hydrolytic enzyme Protease, we have provided more in-depth background on both. For more information please see:

Proteases In Enzyme Therapy

Also, a recent study by the Division of Nutritional Science, University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, entitled "Short-Term Effects of Soybean Isoflavones on Bones in Post-Menopausal Women," found that post-menopausal women with high concentrations of soy in their diet had stronger bone health. Component Benefits

Genistein
Genistin and Genistein are isoflavones mostly found in soybeans.  Genistin is the glycosidic form of the isoflavone and Genistein is the aglycone form. The aglycone form is the form most absorbed into the intestinal mucosa. When ingested in the form of genistin (the glycosidic form) the intestinal bacteria remove the glycosidic moiety and convert it to Genistein which is then absorbed. In the present formulation of highly concentrated pure Genistein, additional glycosidases were added to ensure the conversion of the genistin present into the absorbable aglycone form.

Several studies have shown that Genistein provide the following benefits:

  • provides estrogenic effect in some tissues (bones, heart, brain, lungs, prostate, genitourinay),
  • provides anti-estrogenic effect on the breast
  • the duality of Genistein effect on various tissues is due to a specific receptor
  • abundant on other tissues but not on breast tissues;
  • interference with stimulated tissue proliferation in breast and uterus;
  • antioxidants properties;
  • inhibition of tyrosine kinase and prevent signals for cell proliferation;
  • inhibition of angiogenesis;
  • helps lower cholesterol

Protease
The formulation contains a mixture of highly active proteases with wide range of pH stability, activity, and ability to cleave several types of peptide bonds. In fact, the proteases have endopeptidase as well as exopeptidase (amino and carboxypeptidase) activities. When taken on an empty stomach, oral proteases pass readily into the blood  stream where they bind to alpha 2-macroglobulin. The binding to alpha 2-macroglobulin "hides" the exogenous protease from the immune system, yet allowing it to maintain its hydrolytic activity and act upon substrates small enough to come in contact with the protease/alpha 2-macroglobulin complex. In fact, contrary to some belief, alpha 2-macroglobulin is not a protease inhibitor per se. Some proteases when bound to alpha 2-macroglobulin maintain their catalytic activities, while other proteases do not. This duality in effect is due to the size of the protease and/or its substrates: large substrates may not be able to reach the active site of the trapped protease whereas smaller substrates may easily reach within the complex and be acted upon by the protease.

The proven benefits of oral proteases include:

  • enhanced digestion of proteins in the GI tract;
  • removal of circulating immune complexes before they cause auto immune disorder
  • modulation of cytokines;
  • enhanced blood rheology;
  • fibrinolytic and thrombolytic activity without the bleeding side-effects of other thrombolytics;
  • enhanced healing of wounds;
  • scavenging of circulating oxidized proteins, thus minimizing free radicals cascading effect;

Amylase and Glucoamylase
Ensures the conversion of the genistin present to the more absorbable genistein.

Calcium Citrate
Buffers the Protease, making it more bio available.
