Looking
for help with a specific condition or health problem? New! Low-Carb Diet Immune System Support & Antioxidants Go to Enzymes Explained for an in depth look at enzymes and why they are so important for good health! |
I’m following a low-carbohydrate diet, so I’m eating more protein and fat and fewer carbohydrates. What types of digestive enzymes should I take? Low-carbohydrate diets, also known as restricted carbohydrate diets, are extremely popular these days. As more Americans are becoming obese, finding new ways to manage our weight is becoming a top priority. Most Americans eat more calories than necessary to fuel our sedentary lifestyles. While regular exercise and eating a balanced diet made up of smaller portions is the ideal way to maintain optimum health, some people find a low-carb diet to be a better fit for losing weight because it forces your body to burn existing fat stores for energy. But with the added protein and fat consumption usually required by following a low-carb diet, you also need to tailor your digestive enzyme intake to help your body digest and utilize the excess protein and fat. At the very least, you should be taking a general digestive enzyme such as OxiCellZyme to help with overall food digestion and to provide important vitamins and minerals that are lacking in a low-carb diet. You should also be taking 3 Plantadophilus capsules at night before bed to maintain good colon health. While on a low-carb diet, we also recommend taking an additional protease capsule, such as PureZyme, with meals as well as 2 capsules once or twice a day between meals to help your body efficiently hydrolyze (or digest) all the excess protein you are consuming. If you are concerned about or at risk for high cholesterol, you may want to take additional lipase, such as LypoZyme, with meals to provide extra help digesting lipids (fats). The most cost-effective way to order these enzymes is through the E-Club Enhanced Enzyme Nutrition System with PureZyme. You will get a month’s supply of OxiCellZyme, Plantadophilus, and PureZyme at a savings of 35% off the regular price than if ordered separately. If you want LypoZyme as well, you will be able to take advantage of our member discounts as an E-Club member. Why do I need to take so many enzymes? Isn’t taking 2 OxiCellZyme with meals enough? OxiCellZyme was formulated to provide a blend of digestive enzymes to help digest a normal meal consisting of 20-25% protein, 50-60% carbohydrates, and 20-30% fat. If you are eating much higher percentages of protein and fats, then OxiCellZyme may not provide the higher doses of enzymes needed to meet the demands of your diet, so additional lipase and protease is needed. Since undigested proteins and fats can cause health problems ranging from high cholesterol to compromised immune function to kidney disorders, then making sure the excess fats and proteins in your diet are properly digested is important to optimum health. By taking OxiCellZyme plus additional protease and/or lipase, you can ensure that your body is getting the nutrients it needs and is also effectively hydrolyzing the increased protein and fat in your diet.
